a certain someone

sported a holiday bandanna for a few festivities. i'm pretty anti-dog bandanna but come on - this one works.

holidays on ice

i love this cute felt ornament complete with sequin-button stockings and a pair of ice skates!

12/29/09

am i packing?

nope. uploading holiday photos, reading my plane magazine (ugh i always do that!), starting the complete history of sesame street and eating chocolate-covered unique splits. in my defense, i am doing some laundry. i'll totally start packing when that is ready...

home

it's been nice being home for almost a week. we had our christmas today and i'm back to the city tomorrow and then off to chicago on wednesday! can't wait!

christmas miracle

it doesn't seem as though mikey has even noticed that there is a tree in the house. we mikey-proofed a bit by getting a smaller tree and keeping it up on a coffee table, but he hasn't shown any interest in it anyway. he has shown some interest in jumping on me while i take a picture of the tree - but that made the lights look like candy canes, so i'm fine with it. thanks, mike.

snow day

it snowed all day saturday and now we have about 2 feet of snow. mikey is loving it big time!

a favorite family photo

i'm not in it, but my sixers towel sure is!

12/19/09

jumbo holiday handbook

i love this amazing craft book for kids that i found on etsy! it is full of fun stuff to make and just to look at! no holiday is left uncrafted and it is organized by months of the year so you can craft straight on till next year! the christmas section features toilet paper santas, which was a favorite of my grandmom. and OHMYGOODNESS i can't wait to dive into the valentine's section for the annual valentine's making party!

12/18/09

another project

trying to turn this into something...stay tuned

12/17/09

halfway there

i picked up this quilt top at a yard sale. it is super cute and well made - it just needs to be backed. the woman who made it recently passed away and her daughters were cleaning out the family home. so many treasures! she was a lifelong crafter with such great taste.

12/16/09

the view

my bedroom at my parent's house has changed a lot since i lived there...less manic, more calming.

12/14/09

everything must go

i got a few things from a junk shop that was closing. the picture thing is actually a patchwork christmas ball that you put a photo in the front. adorable.

treasure box

my brother made me this box years ago. it still holds special things, like some costume jewelry from my grandmom and a ring my parents gave me on my sixteenth birthday.

12/11/09

the daygo

i love my san diego tote from maptote. i love catching a glimpse of a neighborhood name while i'm carrying it and thinking of silly stories of that place!

12/10/09

shoes.

the great fall/winter shoe search is still going on (does it ever end??), but i'm happy with these cuties from etsy. haven't exactly worn them yet...but soon...maybe.

12/9/09

pop bottles

this teeny little tray with bottle and glasses is from my grandmom's house. my sister and i would spend large amounts of every visit pouring everyone a glass.

12/8/09

line and shape

an accordion basket at my parent's house

12/7/09

i heart it

sweet vintage fabric i scored at a thrift store in my hometown.

12/6/09

fix your lip

sometimes mikey's little lips get stuck on his teeth. it is hilarious. i say "fix your lip!!" and then he looks at me like this. good times.

12/5/09

second haul

jackpot! my second trip to my own little north pole proved very successful! i got a few cute ornaments, a sweet reindeer, pretty ribbon and a bunch of magazines. the christmas balls have winter scenes in them complete with styrofoam snow!

12/4/09

christmas parade part 2

a GIANT plow, a living snowglobe, bulldozer of fresh snow, red tractor followed by eight john DEER tractors (christmas tractor jokes!) and then HERE COMES SANTA!

christmas parade part 1

a parade of firetrucks, firemen giving out candy, floats, decorated trucks and more...

12/3/09

shoppers stroll

the shoppers stroll in the village of clinton featured roasted chestnuts, a reading of the night before christmas and a parade featuring a zamboni (probably driven by kirk).

12/2/09

garland

my sister made this pretty garland for thanksgiving. we hung it allover the house.
