my bff and i won tickets to see lady gaga a few weeks ago. it was super fun to see all the little monsters dressed up in gaga looks - they really went all out. meanwhile, we dressed as our normal old lady selves (i think we were the only gals wearing pants in the whole place) and said things like "GREAT, now I'm going to smell like smoke! UGH!". gaga ooo la la.
PS: she did sing my favorite song of hers - is it me or is it not the best summertime song? not sure why this one wasn't a hit.
the only vacation i took this summer was to lake moraine in hamilton, ny. despite an emergency trip to the vet and the fact that we were there to celebrate an annual family seafood fest (vom), it was amazing!
two of the vintage invitations that i used for my bff's baby shower. searching etsy for vintage invitations has made me want to throw tons of parties so i can use all of the cute ones out there - like a coffee talk party or a cookout or maybe just a plain old party full of smiling faces.
4th of july weekend included family, friends, funnel cake, ice cream from the windmill, splashing around in the lake, 75% off flea markets, celebrity sightings, sun and fun. pretty perfect.
i spent new years day at my first estate sale while in chicago. it was great. and sad and weird. but even that was kinda great. luckily i was with a real pro, so i really lucked out. i got tons for around $10.
i love my aunt and uncle's house. every wall, corner, beam has something interesting going on. super blog-worthy yet i never really take any pictures there!
this teeny little tray with bottle and glasses is from my grandmom's house. my sister and i would spend large amounts of every visit pouring everyone a glass.
the shoppers stroll in the village of clinton featured roasted chestnuts, a reading of the night before christmas and a parade featuring a zamboni (probably driven by kirk).
